PRIVACY POLICY — PAPASITO TV
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This page explains, in plain words, what data Papasito TV stores, where it lives, who can see it and what you can do with it.
1. WHO WE ARE
Papasito TV is an app for tracking shows and movies, published by PLS Corporation (Aurélien Silvestre), in Switzerland, which is responsible for processing your data. For any question about your data, use "Contact us" in the settings or write to contact@papasito.tv.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
While you use the app, we only store the data it needs to work:
- your email address (your login) and, if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the identity those services provide;
- your username and, if you add one, your profile photo;
- your collection of shows and movies: shows you follow or have archived, where you are in each show, episodes watched, movies watched or to watch, ratings, reactions, favorites, recommendations, custom lists, your watch history and the souvenir tickets derived from it;
- if you join a guild: your membership, your rank, your applications and the messages you send in the chat (kept for 15 days at most);
- your comments on episodes and movies (text and, where applicable, an attached image or GIF), your likes and the notifications that follow from them;
- the members you follow and those who follow you;
- the actors and directors you follow (visible only to you) and the date announcements that follow from them;
- if you turn on the shows calendar: a secret link code, which you can regenerate or delete at any time;
- your notification subscriptions (web or mobile), if you turn them on; if you turn on your guild's notifications, the guild's name and the start of the message pass through Apple or Google so they can appear on your screen — that's the only way to display a notification, and nothing is sent if you haven't turned it on;
- if you support the app through an in-app purchase: your purchase history (product, date, status), verified with Apple or Google — no payment details ever pass through our servers;
- the messages you send through "Contact us" (questions, reports).
Technical preferences (theme, language, haptic feedback, display caches) are kept on your device only. Since offline mode was added, a copy of your profile, your collection and any check-offs waiting to sync is kept there too, so the app opens and stays usable without a connection: that copy never leaves your device and disappears when you log out or delete the app.
Papasito TV is intended for people aged 13 and over; we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
3. WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES, AND WHICH SERVICES ARE INVOLVED
Your data is stored with Supabase (database and files) and the app is served by Vercel. Four other services are involved, each for one specific job:
- TMDB provides the information about shows and movies (titles, posters, synopses, dates). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- GIPHY powers the GIF search: your search query is sent to it to fetch the results, with no account identifier of any kind.
- DeepL translates comments: the comment's text is sent to it only when you tap "Translate".
- Resend delivers our emails ("Contact us" messages and their replies), sent from noreply@papasito.tv.
Support purchases (donations and subscriptions) are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) within their own systems.
Your database and files are hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Ireland). Some of the other services are based outside Switzerland and the European Union, notably in the United States: Vercel (servers and worldwide network), TMDB, GIPHY, Resend, Apple and Google (purchases, notifications). DeepL is based in Germany. Each receives only what its task requires and is contractually committed to protecting that data under the safeguards recognised by Switzerland and the European Union.
4. WHAT WE DON'T DO
No data is ever sold, rented or passed on to third parties for advertising. There are no ads and no third-party analytics trackers in the app.
Papasito TV sets no cookies. The website and the app only keep, on your device, your login session and your settings (language, theme). Nothing leaves it, so there is nothing to accept.
5. WHO SEES WHAT
Your username and profile photo are visible to other signed-in users. Your comments (with their image or GIF, if any) are visible to all signed-in users, alongside your username; so are the lists of who follows you and who you follow. If your profile is public, any signed-in user can view your statistics, recommendations, public lists, shows and movies; if your profile is private, others only see your photo, your username and the date you joined. If you join a guild, its members can see your progress under the same conditions — they can view it, never change anything. Your chat messages are visible to the members of your guild and deleted automatically after 15 days. If you support the app, the Supporter badge 🍿 appears on your profile, along with your accumulated time as a supporter.
6. YOUR RIGHTS
At any time, you can: export all of your data as a JSON file (Settings > Your data > Export your data) — collection and positions, ratings, reactions, lists, comments, watch history and profile — change your username and photo, make your profile public or private, delete any of your comments, unfollow a member, leave a guild, and delete your account (Settings > Delete my account — immediate and permanent deletion of all your data). For any correction request, use "Contact us".
7. RETENTION
Here is how long each thing is kept:
- your account, your collection, your ratings, your lists and your watch log: for as long as your account exists;
- your comments: until you delete them, or until the account is deleted;
- guild messages: 15 days;
- guild news: 3 days;
- your profile's activity feed: 90 days;
- technical error reports: 30 days;
- "Contact us" messages and their replies: 12 months.
Deleting your account erases all of your data immediately; technical backups disappear within 7 days.
8. CHANGES
This policy may evolve along with the app. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this document.
